I imagine that I am at an intimate tea party and she is next to me at the table.
She has the answers to many questions I have about my family tree and
lovingly shares those secrets.
Over tea and tidbits and across five generations, understanding and
clarity are gained, tears follow laughter, and joy reigns.
I long to have that conversation over tea.

Handpainted Bobbins and Spools with Silk Ribbons (2)
The colors of these handpainted bobbins and spools remind me of Paris. They were inspired by ones made by Heather Bailey. I love all sorts of tools associated with the fiberarts and collect them with relish. In my studio I have a stash of old wooden spools I've gathered over the years. Sadly, they are a disappearing commodity in the marketplace.
This week the Etsybloggers' blog carnival topic is the latest item purchased from an Etsy shop. Mine is a lovely collage of images of the City of Light--Paris--compiled by the incomparable Lunagirl. What fun I will have with these!

Collage of Fiberarts Tools in My Studio
Here is an array of equipment and tools from my fiber arts studio. In addition to my designated studio area at home, I can sometimes be found working in the yard, on my little porch, at a community center with a few of my fiber friends, or at my local Starbucks. My little bungalow is bursting at the seams with my fiber goodies!
Missing from this collage are the many volumes of books and magazines in my personal library. I'm gradually cataloging them all at LibraryThing.
Fiberarts are the answer.
