My husband and I got married in December of 1981 in California. The following May my parents held a small family wedding reception for us at their home in Pennsylvania. The lilacs were in bloom and everything was exquisite.
Five years after this occasion, my youngest sister tied the knot, and our whole family created her handmade wedding. For all the details, see this article that I wrote for the Storque News on Etsy.com.

That sounds great..a handmade wedding..sort of makes me jealous!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you, your sister & mother handled everything beautifully.
ReplyDeleteLoved the bridesmaids' hair bows :-)
Thanks, Delilah and Diva! The bridesmaids' hairbows were made of silk tulle made in England. It's an incredible material--nothing like the nylon stuff--but I'm sure its price has gone into the stratosphere in the ensuing decades....
ReplyDeleteI read your article yesterday and thought it was great. What a marvelous way to have a wedding filled with so many memories and so much meaning. Not that all weddings aren't special, but it seems like your sister's wedding had an extra layer of special. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That is such a fabulous picture. It is so beautiful, it is hard to believe it is a real wedding reception, it is so perfect, it looks like a magazine layout photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks, shannon and backwoodsophisticate! I'll pass your comments on to my Mom, whose gracious hand was visible throughout my wedding and my sister's.
